Unless we consciously decide to be active and embrace the colder winter months - it is quite easy to fall into Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). We start to feel gloomy, dragged down and uninspired. To be bright, joyful and vibrant - the body needs a regular dose of its happy chemicals - endorphin, oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin. Some of the most healthful ways to stimulate the release of these hormones are through breathing exercises, dynamic movement, singing and getting outside of your comfort zone! Welcome to Kundalini yoga!
In this workshop - Activating the Inner Sun - we will be working with exercises and mantras that stimulate the sympathetic nervous system; energizing and uplifting the body and mind. When we are full of sun energy we become expressive, extroverted and enthusiastic. We have better digestion, the mind becomes clear, analytical and action-oriented. We feel light, lifted and have a sense of overall well being.
A portion of the workshop will be spent in the healing vibrations of a 36" Chinese Tam Tam gong. Gong baths are a form of ancient therapy that helps greatly to reduce stress and produce a better flow for our emotions. The vibrations of the gong boost vitality, the natural healing of the body and helps to create a stronger magnetic field - SUN ENERGY.
